To our Surfrider Vancouver community,

As COVID-19 continues its spread throughout the communities where we live, work and play, we have taken measures to protect the health and safety of the activists, volunteers, and the communities that support the important environmental protection work we do. Based on the recommendations of the WHO and the Canadian Government, we have decided to suspend all Surfrider Vancouver events and meetings until further notice. This includes:

– Beach clean-ups
– Executive Committee meetings in person
– Social gatherings of any size
– All business travel for any purpose

The situation remains unpredictable and we are continuously monitoring developments and health expert recommendations. We will communicate relevant updates on our chapter activities as things evolve. In the meantime, our conservation efforts do not stop. We remain focused on our mission to protect our oceans, waves and beaches, and we will continue to work closely with our teams on our 2020 strategic goals, remotely. For the latest news regarding the novel Coronavirus and COVID-19, I encourage you to follow updates issued by the Government of Canada Cornavirus website and twitter feed.

Thank you for being part of this incredible community!

Be well and be safe!

For our oceans, waves and beaches,

Amine Korch,

Chair Surfrider Foundation Vancouver
