Looking for a volunteer opportunity in Vancouver to help the environment?
We’ve got you.
In our current climate, there’s no better time to volunteer in protecting our oceans. Volunteering to become part of the Surfrider Vancouver team is one of the best ways you can gain the energy and momentum for positive change hands-on, amongst a like-minded community of fellow citizens who all feel passionate about the health of our waters.
As a 100% volunteer-run organization, we wouldn’t be anywhere without the help and support of our core volunteer team. From raising educational awareness through graphic design and photography to event planning our regular beach cleans and movie nights, every talent is valued as part of the Surfrider Vancouver team. We can always use more hands, and will find a role that suits you and your skills.

Do I need to have a degree in oceanology in order to volunteer on your team? A degree in oceanology is not mandatory to join our core team. Our organizing committees consist of volunteers from all different trades and expertise and we believe that variety is the spice to life!
How much time is expected from me if I would like to get involved? We highly encourage interested volunteers to partake in a cleanup and learn firsthand what Surfrider and its community is about. Time commitment of our core team varies from 2 to 3 hours per week, with a desired attendance to our public events, held once a month. Executive committee roles ask that each volunteer dedicate 4 – 6 hours a week toward event planning, administrative tasks, and coordination. Please note that Surfrider Vancouver is a 100% volunteer-run organization.
